Wedding Ceremony

For your wedding ceremony Martin, who is classically trained can play the organ for a traditional service or Prisiclla can sing your favourite ballad with keyboard accompaniment. For outdoor services all you need is a power supply within 50 metres and with Martin’s keyboard you could have the sound of a harp, a piano, even a cathedral organ or whatever else your imagination may conjur up with the sublime option of Priscilla singing also. Martin can also play the oboe, an incredibly evocative instrument, either solo or with backing tracks ranging from harp, piano to full orchestra.

Wedding Reception

Alegria are highly experienced at performing for wedding receptions and can provide tasteful jazz and ballads for pre-dinner drinks and dinner sets and can then set the dance floor alight with their hip swinging up-beat numbers. Their song list (see Song Lists) covers the spectrum of the entire 20th century and the present decade alongside Latin songs sung in fluent Spanish, Portuguese & English. 1950’s rock’n'roll, soul, funk, disco, 60’s - 90’s pop hits, Motown, participation songs, specially requested songs or the latest pop hits are catered for. As you’ll see by the Song Lists they have a repertoire that will keep everyone happy - and are especially suitable for groups of mixed ages from kids to grandparents as is so often the case at weddings. Alegria are guaranteed to create a relaxed, fun vibe that will keep the dance floor humming and help give you a night to remember forever.

Bridal waltz

For that special moment, you can choose a song from their huge repertoire in any dance style you can imagine, play your favourite song on their system, or request that they learn your favourite song if it’s not on the list already.

MC

Martin is highly experienced as an MC for weddings and can provide this service for no extra charge. A lively humorous MC can really help break the ice at a wedding and both Martin and Priscilla are exceptional ice-breakers! Fortunately they didn’t get the gig on the Titanic!

Special musical requests, DJ, music for breaks.

Alegria can happily incorporate your favourite CD/MP3’s into the evening’s entertainment during breaks, switch to DJ mode later in the evening to pump the dance floor, especially if there is a large younger crowd and are happy to learn your favourite song or songs if time permits.

Live Karaoke

One speciality of Alegria if requested is to break into Karaoke mode (see Live Karaoke) which can be loads of fun if done tastefully and it’s not allowed to go on too long. Alegria always have spare microphones ready and Martin has had a sideline in what he christened “Live Karaoke” shows for years as the words are on a music stand and you can just jump up and sing a song or you and your friends can join in the chorus of Dancing Queen or Mustang Sally. And Martin’s hand is never far from the mixer in case someone was blessed with the inability to sing in tune! Martin can also change key or tempo at the touch of a button, jump over the bridge in a single bound, repeat a chorus etc. Alegria will only allow this if the bride and groom have specifically requested it.
